Teal Furniture equips pioneering New Papworth Hospital heart and lung treatment centre
An exciting new £165 million hospital project has been completed by the Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, providing a pioneering heart and lung treatment and transplant centre of excellence with over 300 beds and 7 operating theatres.
The New Papworth Hospital in Cambridge has been equipped with Teal’s specialist healthcare products, supplied and installed at the new cardiothoracic hospital by a dedicated project management team.
Teal worked alongside key stakeholders at the Trust’s project partner Skanska to deliver its innovative healthcare solutions. Designed by clinicians, but with patients in mind, the new leading edge hospital has been equipped with patient furniture, recliners, atrium and waiting furniture together with café and dining ranges from Teal’s extensive healthcare range, helping to create a world-class facility for the local and international community.
The furniture on display meets the Trust’s clinical requirements for infection control, manual handling and tissue viability, while healthcare appropriate fabrics help to create a bright, contemporary and therapeutic feel in line with the Interior design strategy. The new hospital’s design combines a highly efficient clinical layout with a stunning external appearance.
