Set in twenty acres of garden, woodland and streams a beautiful Grade II former country house has been sympathetically restored and upgraded by Learn 2 Live to create a new, unique clinic helping teenagers overcome challenges with mental ill-health and associated problematic behaviours
Programmes are designed for young people aged between 14 and 17 with general anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, social anxiety or post traumatic stress disorders, delivered by an expert multidisciplinary team including, psychologists, psychotherapists, family therapists, youth mentors, dieticians, art and music therapists and sports coaches.
Specialist furniture provider Teal were appointed to deliver a contemporary furniture scheme that worked in harmony with the building and colour schemes to create uplifting and interesting spaces in the communal lounge, dining area, conservatory, therapy rooms and bedrooms.
Residential programmes allow children the opportunity to begin the road to improved mental health in a safe and secure environment, no more so than in the shared bedroom areas, which benefit from ‘Myla’ security beds with ligature-resistant features, anti-pick mastic and robust, secure construction.
Durable, healthcare appropriate fabrics and finishes were used throughout the period building where there are a variety of areas designed for socialising, or for spending time alone, many of which benefit from furniture with additional weighting to help maximise safety and limit misuse, helping to support both the specialist staff in the delivery of care and the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of young people and their families.
