Teal LifeCare equips National Rehabilitation Centre.
Part of the Government’s ‘New Hospital Programme’ a new state-of-the-art centre on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough will be delivering life-changing rehabilitation for patients from across the East Midlands.
Operated by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) the new NHS National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) represents a sea-change in the delivery of specialist rehabilitation for those who have experienced a life-changing injury or illness, such as a significant trauma, road traffic collision or brain injury. The Centre is of national importance as it represents the first national research and innovation hub.
Working alongside key stakeholders at the Trust and Integrated Health Projects (IHP), Teal provided its specialist healthcare furniture throughout the ground-breaking new facility, which features smart hospital design and is the NHS’ first operationally carbon neutral building.
The new 70-bed, £105 million purpose-built centre is designed to provide earlier access and more intensive treatments to aid recovery and provide better outcomes for patients.
Teal’s contemporary styled furniture was selected throughout including patient seating, soft seating and bedroom furniture in patient treatment areas, bed bays, patient lounges and dining areas, splinting and orthotics, staff areas, the neuro treatment gym, quiet & sensory room and visitor overnight stay facilities, as well as within the stylish reception spaces.
A wide range of therapies and support are delivered in uplifting interiors with natural light and space, with furniture upholstered in beautiful co-ordinating fabric effect vinyls to create a non-clinical aesthetic. Some furniture has in-built features to prevent self-harm, with additional weighting to maximise safety and limit misuse.
Teal provided full project management, delivery and installation on this complex project, following the Trust’s Zonal Sequencing Plan, helping to ensure the NRC programme is ready to open to its first patients.
