Innovation award for Salus at NeoCon

Teal unveiled its new healthcare collection at NeoCon 2012, walking away with a ‘Best of NeoCon Innovation Award’ for Salus, the first truly ergonomic, anti-microbial patient chair.

NeoCon is North America's largest design exposition for commercial interiors and the award recognises products that enhance the performance and aesthetics of buildings, pushing the limits of design and technology.

Salus, with its innovative and technologically advanced materials is a patient chair designed to help keep bugs out and is proving a success in terms of reducing the risk of infection and increasing patient comfort through its dual pressure relieving capability - provided by the profiled seat and back, which improves support around the sacrum, lumbar and thoracic areas by replicating the shape of the body, compressing to offer continuous postural support.

“We had a phenomenal response to our innovative healthcare products and the Award really topped out a magnificent show” says Paul Goodall Managing Director Teal.

The Salus patient chair created by award winning international designer Tim Wallace can be cleaned in seconds and comprises only five parts. Uniquely, Salus has no fabric joins or stitching and the chair frame is encased in Medipur™ an antibacterial PU foam which contains an additive, providing continuous anti-bacterial and antifungal protection against over 50 common organisms.
