Pressure Reduction

Reflexion is a foam which reacts to body heat and moulds to the body’s shape, thus distributing weight more evenly, and thereby improving circulation.

Teal offer the Reflexion system on any chair featuring this logo:

Key Features for CC

A heavy-duty contoured cushion with a gel insert suitable for use up to 190 kgs /30 stones. Incorporates a thick layer of viscoelastic foam to enable stable immersion of the ischial tuberosities. Incorporates a pommel to minimise sheer forces. Base material is made from the highest foam class – Class X: this will ensure longevity and durability in areas of constant use. Suitable for use with subjects clinically assessed at high risk of tissue breakdown. Cover material can be supplied in a two-way stretch option: this will improve the dispersion of load.

*Pressure mapping carried out on a healthy 89 kgs/14-stone man, using Vyflex two-way stretch vinyl and two-way stretch vapour permeable cover. The mapping gives a good indication as to the effectiveness of the cushion, but its use must be combined with a programme of nursing care for the individual patient.
