Teal install specialist Dementia and mental health furniture at one of Ireland’s leading privately owned hospitals

Specialist furniture supplied by Teal has been installed throughout a new purpose built 200-bed residential care unit by the Highfield Hospital Group; one of Ireland’s leading family owned hospitals.

The new €37 million dementia and mental health facility has the Atlas chair installed throughout, a bespoke new armchair, designed to meet the specific needs of older people. Atlas is a high back chair with fixed, waterfall seat cushion and ergonomically designed upholstery, with contoured back for lumbar and head support.

Patient chairs include the Perry 730, 731 and 732 models with sacral gap for cleaning and access, in a range of 17” and 19” seat heights and with pressure relieving seat cushions. To aid infection control, Perry was supplied with high performance anti-microbial, waterproof vinyl.

Charlotte, a beech laminated stacking armchair with was installed throughout the hospital in patient rooms as a visitor chair and Ghost dining chairs in the staff dining area help to create a stylish, café style environment.

The new nursing home is split over 3 floors, with large individual en suite rooms that are dementia specific units for older people. Teal installed the Rutland bedside cabinet and combination dementia wardrobe with vision panels throughout the new 90-bed unit.

The two-floor mental health facility includes the Rutland combination wardrobe, with all the features required to suit this environment, including sloping door tops to reduce ligature points, rounded edges, anti-tamper screws and full length piano hinges fitted as standard.
