DSC6912PROOF

Client: Birmingham Children's Hospital Date: 2018

Teal HealthCare equipped the new Centre for Rare Diseases at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The new Centre for Rare Diseases is the first of its kind in the world and will make a difference to thousands of children and young people.

In this project delivered via Interserve, Teal worked closely with key stakeholders at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. The project has been shortlisted for a ‘Compassionate Patient Care’ national award.

Teal equipped the new hospital with its ergonomic, award-winning healthcare furniture, including the Buddy day bed – ideal for family sleepovers in patient rooms, Salus patient seating, Cascade bedside lockers and Astra Club recliners within the Oncology treatment areas.

The Children’s Cancer Centre boasts single en-suite rooms, play areas and a teenage common room for cancer patients, equipped with Teal’s unique ‘Jetson’ sensory motion rocking chair.

The ground floor has a bright and airy courtyard, equipped with Teal’s innovative and durable Roku® moulded tub chairs, while reception areas feature fully upholstered Roku® chairs in bright, stimulating fabrics. Teal worked closely with the Trust to satisfy its infection control requirements providing Christie and Valentino tub chairs in TV and mixed play waiting areas.
